Best Cashback Credit Cards in India (2026 Edition)

These cashback cards skip the reward points drama — real rupees, credited directly to your statement. SBI Cashback gives 5% on all online spends. Here's how the top three compare.

Cashback cards should be simple: spend money, get some back. But most cashback cards in India give you points that expire, need to be redeemed via a catalog, or only pay out on specific merchant codes nobody memorises.

These three don't play that game.

1. SBI Cashback Credit Card — Best for Online Spends

Verdict: The most straightforward cashback card in India right now if you spend primarily online.

Annual Fee: Rs999/year (waived if you spend Rs2,00,000 in a year) Minimum CIBIL: ~700

Why it is the top pick

  • 5% cashback on all online transactions — not just specific merchants, all of them
  • 1% cashback on offline spends
  • Cashback credited directly to your statement every month — no points, no catalog, no friction
  • Works on Amazon, Swiggy, Zomato, Myntra, travel portals, bill payments — anything you pay online

Earn rate

Rs15,000/month in online spends = Rs750/month cashback = Rs9,000/year. After the Rs999 fee, you keep Rs8,001. If you hit Rs2,00,000 annual spend, the fee is waived entirely.

SBI Cashback pays out Rs2,240/year if you're spending Rs45,000/month online. That's the sweet spot where it beats every other card in this list by a wide margin.

2. Axis Ace Credit Card — Best for Bill Payments and Daily Spends

Verdict: The only card that gives 5% back on utility bill payments via Google Pay — plus 2% on everything else.

Annual Fee: Rs499/year (waived if you spend Rs2,00,000 in a year) Minimum CIBIL: ~700

Why it works

  • 5% cashback on electricity, gas, phone, and DTH bills via Google Pay — a category most cards ignore or give 1% on
  • 4% on Swiggy, Zomato, and Ola
  • 2% on all other spends — one of the best base rates in this fee bracket
  • Cashback credited to your statement every month

Earn rate

Rs3,000/month on utility bills + Rs4,000 on dining and cabs + Rs8,000 on everything else = Rs430/month = Rs5,160/year. After the Rs499 fee, you keep Rs4,661.

3. ICICI Amazon Pay Credit Card — Best Lifetime Free Cashback Card

Verdict: 5% on Amazon with no annual fee, ever. If you're a Prime member, this card effectively pays for Prime.

Annual Fee: Free (lifetime free) Minimum CIBIL: ~700

Why it is still here

  • 5% cashback on Amazon (Prime members), 3% (non-Prime)
  • 2% on Amazon Pay bill payments
  • 1% everywhere else
  • Cashback goes directly into your Amazon Pay balance — spendable instantly, doesn't expire

Earn rate

Rs5,000/month on Amazon + Rs2,000 in bill payments = Rs310/month = Rs3,720/year. Zero fee. Better than most paid cashback cards if Amazon is your primary shopping destination.

Quick Comparison

| Card | Fee | Online Rate | Base Rate | Cashback Type | |------|-----|-------------|-----------|---------------| | SBI Cashback | Rs999 | 5% all online | 1% | Statement credit | | Axis Ace | Rs499 | 4% dining/cabs | 2% | Statement credit | | ICICI Amazon Pay | Free | 5% Amazon | 1% | Amazon Pay balance |

Which One Is Right for You?

  • You spend Rs15,000+ online across different sites — SBI Cashback. That 5% on all online spends isn't matched by anything else at this price.
  • You pay utility bills online and eat out or use Ola regularly — Axis Ace. The 2% base rate means even boring spends earn.
  • Amazon is your main shopping destination — ICICI Amazon Pay. Free card, instant cashback, no expiry.

Don't try to hold all three. Pick one primary card based on where most of your money actually goes.

FAQs

Is the SBI Cashback card worth the Rs999 annual fee? If you spend Rs20,000+ online per month, yes — you'd earn Rs12,000/year in cashback against a Rs999 fee. Below Rs10,000/month online, Axis Ace or ICICI Amazon Pay is a better fit.

Does Axis Ace give 5% on all Google Pay payments or just utility bills? Just utility bill payments — electricity, gas, phone, DTH, water. Regular UPI transfers or shopping payments via Google Pay don't qualify for the 5%.

Can I hold SBI Cashback and Axis Ace at the same time? Yes, they're from different banks. Holding both makes sense if your spends are split between general online purchases and utility/dining. Just don't split attention during the first 6 months.

Does the ICICI Amazon Pay cashback expire? Amazon Pay balance doesn't have an expiry date but can only be used on Amazon India — you can't withdraw it as cash or use it elsewhere.

Which of these cards has no cashback cap? SBI Cashback caps at Rs5,000/month on Rs1,00,000 online spend. Axis Ace has per-category caps. ICICI Amazon Pay has no stated cap on the 5% Amazon category. Always verify the latest terms before applying — banks change these without much notice.
