Frequently Asked Questions

How does Axis ACE 5% cashback on Google Pay work?+
When you pay utility bills (electricity, gas, water, broadband) or do mobile recharges using the Axis ACE card via Google Pay, you get 5% cashback. The bill must be paid through the Google Pay app specifically — not through the biller website directly or other UPI apps.
Is there a cap on Axis ACE cashback?+
There is no cashback cap on the 2% general category. The 4% category (Swiggy, Zomato, Ola) may have a monthly cap — check the current terms on the Axis website as these have changed over time. Cashback is credited to your statement at the end of the billing cycle.
Does Axis ACE have lounge access?+
Yes — 4 complimentary domestic lounge visits per year via the VISA/Mastercard lounge network. This is modest compared to premium cards but notable for a card in the Rs.499 fee tier.
How does Axis ACE compare to SBI Cashback Card?+
Both are excellent everyday cashback cards. Axis ACE wins on bill payments (5% via Google Pay) and cab/food delivery (4%). SBI Cashback Card wins on all online spends with a flat 5% rate (vs 2% for ACE on non-preferred platforms). SBI Cashback is better if you spend heavily on Amazon, Flipkart and other e-commerce. ACE is better for bills, food delivery and cabs.
Is there an annual fee on Axis ACE?+
The annual fee is Rs.499, waived if you spend Rs.2 Lakh or more in the card anniversary year. This works out to Rs.16,667 per month — easily achievable for most users. The card is sometimes available with zero joining fee during promotions.

Perfect second card for everyday spending

Axis Ace is my go-to for anything Google Pay, electricity bills, and food delivery. The 5% on Google Pay transactions covers a huge chunk of my daily payments. Paired with a travel card, this combo handles most spending categories effectively.

What I liked
  • 5% on Google Pay transactions
  • Simple cashback - no redemption hassle
  • Works well as daily use card
What could be better
  • No fuel benefits
  • International markup is high

Best cashback card period, no contest

I have tried SBI Cashback, HDFC Millennia, and a few others. Axis Ace wins for sheer simplicity - 5% on bill payments, 4% on Swiggy, Zomato, Ola. I save around Rs 800-1000 per month just on these categories. No point tracking needed.

What I liked
  • 5% on bill payments (electricity, DTH, etc.)
  • 4% on Swiggy, Zomato, Ola, Uber
  • 2% everywhere else
  • No annual fee if you spend above 2 lakh
What could be better
  • Cashback credited next statement, not instantly
  • Bill payment 5% has some exclusions
